I got accepted today as a mentor in the "Second Mile Program" called "Friend Fitness". It's a prevention/early intervention program designed for adolescents ages 11-17.
They focus on slow strength-training of slow manual resistance and also on goal setting and achievement.
Their strictly structured low rep workout is completely different from what I call a workout. It really is unique. They require a 100% effort and total failure on each rep. This develops the student's mental perserverance to complete each exercise.
This mental perserverance carries over to their academic and social behavior.
Friends Fitness has great success record for turning these teeny-boppers around. I'm looking forward to this new and different experience.

That's fantastic, Dom! I can't wait to hear how Friend Fitness goes. What a perfect mentor you'll be!
